I was able to try the age replenishing day lotion which retails for $31.20 and offers 50g of product. This is supposed to be for normal to dry skin and also suitable for people with sensitive skin. Keep in mind, my skin is oily. Here’s some of the benefits, the product claims to give:
“natruél’s age replenishing system rejuvenates your skin, leaving it soft and renewed by increasing skin cell growth. Using UMF®15+ manuka honey helps to regenerate skin tissue, and rewarewa honey contains antioxidants to help reduce free radicals. Cold pressed extra virgin olive oil helps nourish and protect your skin and cold pressed flaxseed oil helps restore dry skin. Specially selected essential oils complement the natural formulation of our age replenishing system, leaving your skin nourished.”
Like I said, there is 50g of product in the bottle. The bottle feels like plastic but sophisticated in regards to it’s long rectangular shape. I’m a huge fan of the packaging due to their use of the white colour. It looks clean and fresh which fits in their whole aspect of being a “natural” skincare range.
This isn’t like your normal moisturizer you would apply straight onto your skin. The instructions say that you must shake the product well before use – I’m guessing because the honey sets to the bottom of the bottle. Apply 1-2 pumps of product onto your skin but if your left with a sticky residue then you have applied on too much. The pump is also something that I like reason being; you don’t get many moisurisers with a pump. It lets you dispense the right amount of cream at one pump but ofcourse you can use more if need be. With your traditional tubes of moisturiser, you generally have to squeeze the cream out and your left with too much product most of the time. I personally feel that one pump is enough for me. The cream does have a strong smell to it and ofcourse it’s not nice frangrance we are all used to. For the reason that it’s a natural product, it smells natural… meaning it has a very strong honey smell to it. It lingurs for about 10 minutes and is definately a smell I got used to over time. Once pumped out, you can see it has a caramel colour. The consistency is in between of thick and runny but I do like the texture overall. As you blend it into your skin, it feels sticky but that goes away once it dries down. My skin feels really soft and feels like it has a layer of silicone over my face so you know the product is doing it’s job by keeping the moisture in. This is my go to at the moment on the days that I don’t use makeup.
What’s the verdict?
I do feel the Age Repleneshing Day Lotion does what it’s supposed to. I’m very much a fan of their design and packaging. If you don’t mind spending the big bucks or are looking to splurge for a moisturizer then I’d definitely recommend this. BUT, if you don’t like strong smells especially ones that don’t have a nice perfume like smell then you won’t be a huge fan of this. Have you tried this before?
